We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: summer in Calgary, AB is just about as good as it gets, due in large part to the multitude of activities that are available to locals and visitors from June through August. July obviously is smack-dab in the middle of the warm season, and with that comes a handful of really fun events for you (and your family and friends) to attend. Here’s a quick look at some of the hottest things going on for Calgary GMC owners this month:
Calgary Stampede (July 7-16) – First and foremost, it’s impossible to mention July in Calgary, AB without first mentioning the Calgary Stampede, maybe the biggest, most exciting event the city hosts all year. While the Stampede is known primarily for its rodeo and stage shows, there obviously is a lot more to do at the event than that, with carnival rides and games, shopping, and delicious food all part of the event. More than any other summer festival, the Calgary Stampede is what makes July special in this part of the province!
Fiestaval Latin Festival (July 21-23) – There are a number of rich cultural heritages in our area, but few show those heritages off as beautifully as those that run Fiestaval every year. This free event runs in late July at Olympic Plaza and includes all sorts of Latin music performers and of course some truly excellent food. It’s a fun, free day to spend outside!
Calgary Folk Fest (July 27-30) – Folk music festivals are popular all over North America in the summer, but we’re especially excited about our own Calgary Folk Fest, which this year features talented artists like Martha Wainwright, The Deep dark Woods, and the Bros Landreth.
As your local Calgary car dealership, we want you to hop behind the wheel of your GM automobile this summer and make the most of what the area has to offer. These are great festivals, so hopefully you find your way to them this July!
